Bonjour 2011! We've Been Expecting You!

Tomorrow is the last day of 2010.  Remember to celebrate!!  Either celebrate that it's over or (as in my case) how much fun you had!  2011 is going to be a blast.  I am always skeptical of odd numbered years, but staying optimistic.

Don't forget champagne and sparkles this weekend!
Ciao!

Snow Thanks!

Bonjour my pets!  I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are getting ready for a sparkly New Year celebration!

After spending a magic weekend in NYC celebrating Christmas, we got slapped with THE blizzard!  Mes amis, the snow blew so hard that it completely wiped my au naturale makeup covered face clean.  Snow covered eyelashes and black mascara running everywhere...may look like a typical New Yorker, but not chic.  An extra day did allow for some more Broadway fun and shopping, of course!  A day late and many dollars short, we have arrived home, and in turn, back at the desk.  Sigh.

I cannot deny, it is good to be home!  The winter weather does not take well to me.  It's going to be awhile before I can see snow again.  In honor of that, are all things dark, warm, and cozy!

Jetting off on Happy Holidays!

Bonjour mes cheries!  It is Christmas vacation at last....sigh.  That pesky desk has been keeping me up to my eyelids in all things work.  Terribly inconvenient, but now, we celebrate!  I hope your holidays are full of cheers and dears!  I know mine will be.  Jetting off riverside and then to NYC for the big day.  Ooh la la!

Joyeaux Noel!

La Vie en Rose...Christmas Edition

Who says Christmas decor must be all greens and reds?  Don't get me wrong, cherie, I love Christmas decor, but it's way more fun to have it bright and light!  Pair these rosy hues with the silvers, golds, and greens we all use!

Merry Merry!

Decem-busy

Bonjour, at last!  Mes petits choux, I am truly embarrassed.  It has been an unfortunate few weeks, where work has taken over all spare time.  What's the point of being locked to the desk if you can't have a little fun??!  Well, it seems that the work grinch has climbed back up his mountain, leaving me a few days to get back to laissez faire.

With Christmas coming soon, everything is green, red, presents, and the perfect winter outfit?  Mais oui!  When you're out doing all things Christmas, you have to dress the part.  Polyvore helped me get through a few long hours at the desk...I put together my dream wardrobe for all things December.

Champagne on the Halfshell

Bonjour mes amis!  I hope all of you piglets had delicious Thanksgiving meals!

No rest for the full, I'm afraid. Today begins with more champagne and succulent delights!  Roasted pig and oysters to nibble all day.  Champagne with pomegranate seeds to wash it all down!  Magnifique!

What a perfect way to start off the jolly season!  Only 29 more days until the jingle jingles!
Cheers!

Glamorous and Ooh La La Luxury

Vacation time has arrived!  Extra long weekends ahead.  Hopefully you will spend them in luxurious and glamorous surroundings like the ones below.  So chic.  So decadent.  Perfect for eating grande meals and taking snoozes in front of the parade.

Be sure to rest up!  That jolly Pere Noel shows his face after this weekend!

Thanksgiving Done Bright

Happy Monday!

Since this is only a 2 (or for me 3-ugh) day week, Monday doesn't seem so bad!  Thanksgiving is around the corner, and for me this means an excuse to start buying up all the trendy holiday decor that has hit the shelves!

Not a huge fall color fan (surprise), I love this shabby chic, light and bright Thanksgiving tablescape. Switch out the straw for pine, the pumpkins for shiny ornaments, and the turkeys for reindeer and you transition to the perfect Christmas-winter wonderland!

Jingle Jingle!

Orange You Glad...

...It's almost the weekend?!  I know I am.  Looking forward to sleeping in and catching up on my very important collection of DVR'd shows.

Quelle surprise!  Oranage looking magnificant on Elements of Style.  Warm and bright...perfect for Thanksgiving next week.  J'adore!  Here's to a marvelous weekend of lounging.  Cheers!

Royal Blush...

...Blushing bride to be!

I am sure by now you have all read the news.  The tres gorge- magnifique wearer of hats and "commoner"(!) Kate Middleton is set to wed, King-to-be, Prince William!

Ah-so exciting!  One of the many occasions I will count down to in 2011.

Like so many simpletons, I am not moaning of the imaginary "loss" of Prince William (please!).  Moreover, my mind is already racing with the details of the royal event!  Decor?  Dress?  So much to think about.

The Prince proposed with his mother's sapphire engagement ring.  Sigh.  Perfect for a Princess in waiting!

Oink Oink

Bonjour!  Ah, mes amis, it has been a hard week!  A mystery illness struck and has been the cause of cabin fever, insomnia, and a few other awful side effects.  All is now well and I am on the mend.  Unfortunately, on the mend means back at the desk (sigh).

Stuck inside all weekend meant cooking to satisfy my inner piglet.  First stop, the apparently famous Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies.  Yes, they should be famous, because they are magnifique!  Thinking about renaming them so I get the credit....hm.

Happy Monday!

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 cups butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups sugar
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
24 oz. chocolate chips
1 8 oz. fine dark chocolate (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Measure oatmeal and blend in a food processor to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in the flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, dark chocolate and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet or drop by teaspoonful onto the cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, or 10 to 12 minutes for a crispier cookie.

Makes enough for you, your family, and your entire neighborhood.

Dinner Date

Elements of Style designed the most delicious dinner party table.  In love with the combination of patterns and colors.  J'adore the china and chandelier!  I see a dinner party in my future....

First things first,  know how to set the proper table.
If not-you're out of luck mes cheries!

Happy Vendredi!  Cheers to a fabulous weekend!
